Chevy cruze oil change synthetic – HOW TO \” Change oil on a Chevy Cruze. EASY!

hey everyone welcome to another episode
of mechanic’s for life they were going
to be showing you how to do a little
change on a 2014 chevy cruze 1.4 liter
I’m going to go ahead and move your
wheel cap before you remove your drain
fluid kind of help it off a little well
next year when we go ahead and grab your
3/8 ratchet and a 10 millimeter socket
to get the drain plug off your oil pan
drain plug it’s going to be to the right
of your down pipe from your exhaust
you’re going to go ahead and take the 10
millimeter and ratchet and go ahead and
remove that all your oil is draining
you’re going to go ahead and take your
ratchet a six inch extension and a 24
millimeter socket and you’re going to go
ahead and remove the oil filter cap I
did forget to mention it is kind of
hidden on the right side of the top part
of the engine up underneath the intake
tube

you are going to keep the oil filter
housing cap and just remove the filter
itself with your new oil filter you are
going to get an o-ring which goes on the
oil filter housing cap you’re going to
want to go ahead and replace that but
before you install the new one make sure
you get a little bit of oil lubed up
around it now for this particular engine
we are using the Napa gold filter which
is part number 7-6 7-4 some other models
will take a different filter
so make sure that it is recessed in
there and it is this nice and seasonal
filter does have a couple plastic prongs
on there that are going to snap down in
place inside the oil filter housing cap
then you go ahead and reinstall it since
it is plastic be sure not to over
tighten this I usually like to take my
ratchet get it to where it stops and
feel seated and then go about a quarter
turn after all your oils went ahead and
drained out of your engine I mean go
ahead and reinstall your oil pan drain
plug I’m sure not to over-tighten this
since pretty much all oil pans are
aluminum
once you got your oil filter in and your
drain plug reinstalled you can go ahead
and add your oil this car calls for 5w30
and we’re going to go ahead and use full
synthetic as well again this particular
engine takes about a little bit over
four quarts of oil we’re going to go
ahead and add four start the vehicle up
back it up off the ramps check our oil
and kind of add accordingly add in the
four quarts a little and before you
start the engine up and back it up off
the ramps be sure to put your oil cap
back on just so we’ll doesn’t go
everywhere
[Applause]
after you shut the car off you can go
ahead and pull your dipstick wipe it off
and you’re going to reinsert it pull it
back out and check your levels which
this one’s about right here in the
middle you usually want to get it up to
about the third hash mark put in about
four and a half quarts total in here
and should I pull on the dipstick after
that you’ve got to put your wheel cap
back on make sure your dipstick is
pushed all the way in you can go ahead
and close the hood next last I’m going
to show you how to reset your oil light
on your turn signal lever you’re going
to see a couple arrows a mini button and
a set clear button that’s going to be on
the end you’re going to want to go ahead
and press menu’ to where it gets the
option side if it’s not on the remaining
oil life indicator you just flip through
this show your different options like
tire pressure units that are set for
your miles per hour
rpms battery voltage let’s get back to
the remaining oil life and to reset that
you’re going to hold this button on the
very end that’s for set and clear I
asked you if you’re sure you want to
reset it use the arrows and twist that
up to get in the game they’re going to
hit set clear
and it will go back to 1% and that into
